Shaping Steel With Purpose
Lazo, prototype, 2022
We have a deep curiosity for understanding how things are made, and sometimes we try pushing the boundaries of the production process to create objects that are both functional and unique. The idea emerged to bend a single flat bar of steel in a distinctive way, forming the handle for a line of kitchen utensils.
Ergonomic & Functional
This single, continuous steel bar provides not only an ergonomic grip but also functions as a hook for easy storage.
From Concept to Prototype
We introduced the Lazo kitchen tool concept to the italian company Alessi, and they found its innovative design compelling. The company decided to explore the concept further, creating a series of prototypes.
A Prototype Legacy
Although the project did not advance to full production for various reasons, these prototypes have found a place in the Alessi Museum and Archives, preserving the idea as part of their design history.
